Our Approach
Our approach to sports medicine is both unique and effective. Our initial priorities when dealing with an injured athlete are placed on controlling pain and the effects it has on the body. After we eliminate uncontrolled inflammation and pain, our focus is placed on optimizing an atmosphere for healing and expediting this process. We employ manual therapies, physiotherapy modalities and appropriately structured nutrition protocols to help achieve these goals and necessary milestones.
Ideally, athletes should be proactive about optimizing proper function and thus, preventing injury. Not only do our clinicians and trainers have the abilities to act as sideline clinicians for athletes and teams, but they are also qualified to screen core functional movements and identify faulty movement impairments that predispose an individual to injury. These faulty movements are identified and addressed with corrective exercise strategies, allowing each athlete to individually attack areas of weakness. This gives us long-term strategies that will be used to maximize the chance for optimal performance AND keep our athletes on the field by avoiding injury altogether.
