Dr. Nick Baker D.C, M.S., C.C.S.P., C.S.C.S.

Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician

Growing up in the foothills of California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains, Dr. Baker has always been an active, adventure-seeking individual.  He developed a passion for sports and exercise at an early age that grew throughout high school while participating in football, track & field, basketball and soccer. Chiropractic care was essential to identifying, treating and proactively preventing the primary causes of dysfunction that led to injury and re-occurrence experienced while competing.  After high school, he was able to carry his athletic passions onto the collegiate stage, competing in both NCAA III college football and track & field.

Dr. Baker finished his first undergraduate degree at California State University – Fresno earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology – Exercise Science, and went on to attend the University of Western States, graduating with a second Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology, a Master of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science and his Doctorate of Chiropractic. During his educational pursuits and training, he was able to apply his knowledge of sports and training to his treatment style, addressing many different types of conditions, including a wide range of sports injuries. He worked in various athletic training rooms throughout Oregon, treating and advising athletes on such matters as injury care, injury prevention and performance enhancement. Dr. Baker participated as a member of the medical staff at multiple regional high school sporting events, the Lake Oswego Lake Run (5-10K), the ORSU 7’s rugby tournament, the Hagg Lake Triathlon, the Track City International Classic, and the Seaside beach volleyball tournament.

Dr. Baker approaches each individual patient with a whole-body mentality. By evaluating each patient in a comprehensive way, he is able to streamline care, allowing for optimally efficient care plans and treatment protocols. He is trained in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and the Functional Movement Screen (FMS), and utilizes these tools to help target areas of dysfunction and opportunity, whether structural or functional. He utilizes a diversified adjusting technique, as well as Activator method, arthrostim, and drop-table approaches, to adjust spinal and extremity joints. He also employs myofascial release techniques, instrument-assisted soft tissue manipulation (IASTM), and is a fascial movement taping (FMT) Rocktape provider, using the culmination of these methods to treat a range of musculoskeletal conditions.

Dr. Nick is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), and utilizes his knowledge and experience with both athletes and non-athletes to help his patients achieve their desired level of performance and function.
